Okey Egbuchu started his career as a litigator.  He practiced briefly as a federal prosecutor between 1992 and 1993 and thereafter as a civil, commercial and maritime litigator in the then law firm of Ukpong & Omotoso (now CLP Legal) where he rose to partner in Year 2001. He was appointed Managing Partner in April 2019.

Energetic and versatile, Okey Egbuchu expanded his expertise and advised many clients both Nigerian and multinationals on Project Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate Structuring and Restructuring, Infrastructure and PPPs, Energy Law, Data Protection, Real Property, Tourism and Hospitality. He is also a registered insolvency practitioner

He is a member of Council of the NBA Section on Business Law, a former Chairman of its Travel Tourism and Hospitality Committee, a member of its Energy, Infrastructure, Banking and Finance Committees.  In Year 2018, he served as the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee of the 12th Annual Business Law Conference of the NBA Section on Business Law which held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
